GARDINER COMMUNITY CENTER BOARD

 

MINUTES OF December 7, 2011

 

Call to Order: 

 

The meeting was called to order by President Dennis Martin at 9:35 AM. 

Present: Vice President Bob McCauley, InterimTreasurer Debra Qunnell, Secretary Steven Durupt, Interim Board Member Jill Jones.

Absent Board Members:  Dick Hanel, Suzanne Rehder, Linda Hanel, George DeBruyn.

Guests: Community Center Caretaker Andrew Watson,. John Austin, Dick Bennett Herb Cooke            

 

Approval of the Minutes:  Dennis Martin  moved to approve minutes for November 2, 2011:  Passed.

 

Communications:    Information copy of  Agenda Request from the Board of County Commissioners dated December 5, 2011 concerning redistricting the County Commissioner Boundaries.  The copy of the Agenda Request was brought to the Board meeting by John Austin for information purposes only and was not used as a topic of discussion.  The Secretary is in possession of it and can be made available to anyone wishing to browse through it by contacting the Secretary.  The document will be brought to the next Board meeting on January 4, 2012.

 

Facility Report:            Janitorial Service/Board

Summary:

 

FLOORS: KITCHEN: BATHROOMS:

                The new vacuum cleaner is performing adequately.

                All concerned are pleased with recent chair cleaning  and carpet shampooing.

 

To Do List:  Caretaker suggests delays/timers for exhaust fans in restrooms for adequate ventilation.

                Need cleaning agents “scrubbing bubbles” ,wick-type refills for air freshening, spare mop heads

                and tri-fold paper towels.                                    

 

 

Landscape Committee :                                               Chairman/Board

No committee members present.  No issues presented  

 

Treasurers Report:  Submitted by Interim Treasurer Debra  Quinnell.  

 

Approval of Financial Report:  Approval Motion made for November 2, 2011 report:  Passed

 

Community Newsletter:     Bob McCauley

Deadline for next newsletter articles will be at end of January; Board vacancies in 2012 need to be included in the next newsletter. 

           

Old Business:

 

  • Projects Completed:  shampooing of carpet completed on Nov.16,2011.
  • Christmas decorating completed on Dec.1,2011
  • Piano moved to it’s new home.

 

 

                  

                   Projects pending:

o   Primer paint applied on Building.  Final paint spring 2012:  On-going. Dennis Martin

o   Inquiry letter to Milgard Co. for replacing all windows : On-going Dennis Martin

 

 

 

 

New Business:

 

  • Incident Reporting Form changes:  Dennis Martin versus Bob McCauley as “contact” and “was incident reported to police?” versus “was incident reported?”
  • 2012-2013 Budget: Discussion: Board members
  • Take-down of Community Center Christmas decorations set for 10:30 am on Jan.5, 2012.
  • New weekly Community Center rental for dance classes on Mondays 5 to 9 pm.
  • Checking account bank fee to be left as is because the fee has minimal impact.  Checking account alternatives to resolve the fee issue is to be addressed early next year.
  • Open public meetings versus Executive Sessions over contractual issues per RCW (Revised Code of Washington) 42.30.110.
