Jennifer Lee Swenson

Jennifer Lee Swenson, age 89, passed away August 24, 2020, in Olympic Memorial Hospital, in Port Angeles, of complications following surgery to repair a broken hip. She died peacefully with her daughter, Holly, at her side.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Swenson (Dick) in 2012. Dick and Lee were married for 63 years.
Jennifer (Lee) was born May 10, 1931 to Allen Lee Barnes and Ina Vivian Morgan in La Harpe, Kansas. She was the oldest of three children, her sister Evelyn Eckert and her brother William Kramer, predeceased her. She spent the major part of her youth in the Seatle area, where she worked in her parent's restaurant.
Lee married Dick in March 1949 and their union was blessed with four children. They lived in Washington, California, Florida, back to California and then in Kansas, until Dick retired from Boeing.
They traveled several years around the country seeing their children and friends. Then; they came home to Washington. First in Gardiner in a house built for them by very good friends the Peterson family, with Dick and Lee contributing to the construction daily and, then in the city of Sequim itself.
Lee enjoyed reading, traveling, baking, sewing and she LOVED her garden. She grew flowers, fruits, vegetables and a wide variety of herbs. She was always out in the yard tending to her plants. You were treated to the best berries and home baked bread when you were at Lee's house.
Lee was a devoted wife and mother, a warm hearted and generous grandmother, a loyal friend. All her children have quilts she made. We will remember her with much love. She will be missed.
Lee is survived by children Barbara Corpe of Sequim, WA; Eric Swenson and his spouse BK of San Diego, CA; Holly Swenson and her spouse Stephen DeKeater of Glendale, CA; Marc Swenson and his spouse Anneta of Slidell, LA; grandchildren Jenna DeKeater; Amber Braman; and • Roy Corpe Jr.
